Feelings faces plates

15 minutes · ages 3+ · Big feelings

Why it helps

A way to say a feeling before they have the words.

You need

  • 4 paper plates
  • Markers

How

  1. Draw a happy, sad, mad and scared face, one on each plate.
  2. Hold them up and act each feeling with silly voices.
  3. Later, when it's hard, ask: "Which plate are you right now?"

Always with a grown-up. Small parts are a choking hazard for children under 3.
